I started getting into photography when I bought my first digital camera for a trip to Africa In 2006. It was an incredible experience and I’ve been hooked on wildlife photography ever since. Over the years I’ve gradually improved my skills on holidays in Australia and overseas, or exploring the many beautiful locations in and around our home town of Canberra.

I’ve always been a bird lover, and my favourite photographic subjects are birds, especially birds in flight, which is the inspiration for the name of this site. That said, I’m generally happy taking pictures of anything, especially the natural world.

Other photographic categories I occasionally try my hand at include astrophotography, underwater, architecture, product, macro, aircraft, sports, portraits, business, and I’ve even served as the official photographer for a wedding (not something I’m keen to pursue as a career!)

Over the years I’ve built up a fairly substantial collection of images, and thought it was time to share some of them with the world.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my site, and if you see any images you think would look great on your wall (or someone else’s), please check out my Redbubble shop, or send me an email.

Matt
